Katie E. Curry, 91, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Curry was born Oct. 1, 1911, near Carterville, Ill., the daughter of Tom and Gerdie Boyd Robison. On June 19, 1926, she married Carl E. Curry in Lilbourn, Mo. He passed away Jan. 25, 1937.
Mrs. Curry was a former resident of Oak Ridge, moving to Jackson in 1949. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson. She worked at the former International Shoe Company in Jackson, retiring in 1977. During World War II, she lived in Evansville, Ind., where she worked at an airplane parts manufacturing plant.
Loving survivors include one son, Carl E. Curry of Jackson; two daughters, Betty Cowan of Oak Ridge, Mo., and Alice Curry of Jackson; one brother, Albert Robison of Dupo, Ill.; two grandsons, Dr. Mike Cowan of Oak Ridge and Kevin Cowan and wife Kathy of Biehle; three great-grandchildren, Jason, Kimberly and Jeffrey Cowan.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Friends may call between 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by an interment in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jon Sedgwick will officiate.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at Oak Ridge.
