Kathleen Dianne "Kathy" Roth, 69, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Silverado Memory Care Community in Houston.

She was born April 24, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Edgar Henry Claus and Olga Hilda Fritsche Steffens. Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Richard Roth, on April 25, 1970.

She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Missouri, on May 7, 1950, and confirmed May 22, 1964. After she and Dennis married, they moved to Jackson and became members at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

She attended school at Salem Lutheran School at Farrar and was a 1968 graduate of Perryville High School. After graduation, she embarked on a successful 47-year banking career starting at Bank of Perryville and later The Bank of Missouri, where she became a bank officer.

Kathy was very active at the church, serving as church secretary, the stewardship board and the finance board. Kathy also was very community oriented, volunteering and serving many civic organizations, including the Noon Optimist Club of Jackson and the PEO Chapter.

She was a very beautiful, caring and considerate person, placing her faith in God, church and others ahead of herself.

Loving survivors include her husband, Dennis, of 49 years; two children, Shelah (Neil) Hester of Cape Girardeau and Justin (Brooke) Roth of Spring, Texas; four grandchildren, Kimberlie (Dustin) Nothdurft, Cameron and Riley Hester and Toby Grace Roth; a great-grandson, Kole Nothdurft; three brothers, Dale (Helen) Steffens, Richard (Kathy) Steffens and Gary (Carol) Steffens, all of Jackson; and an aunt, Dorothy Hemman of Brazeau, Missouri.

Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Jason Shaw and the Rev. Eric Longman officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be given to St .Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran School or the Alzheimer's Association.
