Kathryn Ruggles

Kathryn E. Ruggles, 91, of Jackson, formerly of Aurora, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.

She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Verona, Mo., daughter of John and Esther Anderson Engeldorf. She and Elmo W. Ruggles were married Jan. 30, 1932. He died Feb. 17, 2002.

Ruggles was a member of First Baptist Church of Aurora. She and her husband were lifelong farmers in the community. She moved to Jackson in 2004 and resided with a daughter, Gayla.

Survivors include four daughters, Gayla Hunter of Jackson, Jean Hobbs of Monett, Mo., Janet Worm of Verona, Joy Nolan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a son, Don Ruggles of Verona; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a sister.

A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday at Spring River Cemetery in Verona. The Rev. Hubert Conway will officiate.

McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
