JONESBORO, Ill. -- Kathryn Arlene Mowell, 84, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Ill. She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Anna, Ill., daughter of William and Cleta Anderson Davis. She and John Mowell were married Sept. 2, 1949, in Anna. He died Feb. 5, 1991...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Kathryn Arlene Mowell, 84, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Ill.

She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Anna, Ill., daughter of William and Cleta Anderson Davis. She and John Mowell were married Sept. 2, 1949, in Anna. He died Feb. 5, 1991.

Mowell and her husband owned and operated Mowell's Grocery Store several years. She retired in 1991. She attended First Baptist Church in Anna.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Lisa Mowell of Anna.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 11 a.m. to service time Friday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Hill officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery.
