DONGOLA, Ill. -- Kathryn Barringer, 79, of Dongola died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 22, 1924, in Dongola, daughter of John and Clara Bracken Baker. She and Vincent "Dutch" Barringer were married May 8, 1948. He died Oct. 31, 2000.

Barringer was a member of First Baptist Church, Moose Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lasley of Buncombe, Ill., Joan Plott of Anna, Ill.; a son, Mike Barringer of Dongola; a sister, Roseann Kelley of Jonesboro, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Everett Frizzell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
