Kathleen Akers, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria British Columbia, Canada. She was born Jan. 13, 1924, at Sesser, Ill., daughter of Arnold and Luella Hagle Rowark. Akers was employed as a secretary by DLH Services Inc. before retiring in 2001. Kathleen Akers, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria British Columbia, Canada.

She was born Jan. 13, 1924, at Sesser, Ill., daughter of Arnold and Luella Hagle Rowark.

Akers was employed as a secretary by DLH Services Inc. before retiring in 2001. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, Mo.

Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth McFerron of Chaffee and Bess Sheibley of Elkhart, Ind., five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Marty Blakey will officiate.
