KATHERYN LOOMIS WILEY

ANNA, Ill. -- Katheryn Loomis Wiley, 85, Anna Route 1, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1993, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Granite City, daughter of Charles and Rose Snyder. She and O.K. Loomis were married in 1928. He died in 1978.

Wiley taught school 25 years, 16 of which were at Anna Schools. While here she was a member of the Republican Club, Federated Women's Club, National Teachers Association, Senior Citizens Advisory Council, Historical Society, and an elder of the Presbyterian Church USA.

Survivors include three sons, Carroll Loomis of Anna, Donald Loomis of Rimer, Va., Jon Loomis of Chicago Heights; two sisters, June Anderson of Marion, Ellen Lichtenstein of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Cobden, with the Rev. Richard Ryman officiating. Burial will be private.
