Karon Ann Robert, 72, of Scott City died Friday, June 30, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Cape Girardeau to James and Jeanette Mae Bles Riley Jr. She married Hugo Wendolin "Hook" Robert on June 23, 1962. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2012.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. She loved to cook and was always the center of family gatherings. She had a very creative nature and had a soft heart for homeless animals. She would provide presents to needy families at Christmas and was always thinking of the less fortunate.

She is survived by a son, Doug (Lorie) Robert of Scott City; two daughters, Christine (Christopher) Robinson and Shanna (Joe Hager) Robert of Scott City; four grandchildren, Austen Robinson, Landon and Lyndsie Robert and Skyler Robert; and a brother, Stan (Sheila) Riley of Jackson.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Mandy and Lainey Robert; a brother, Freddie Joe Riley; and a sister, Lavonna Lenand.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Joe Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso, Missouri.
