Karen E. King, age 50, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Friends may call after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate. A graveside committal service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Russell Heights Cemetery.
Karen was born July 24, 1952, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of James E. Turner and Esther E. Graden-Turner-Morie. She and Gary King were married Jan. 27, 1973, at Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband; son, Corey King of Jackson; father, James "Jim" Turner of Jackson; mother, Esther Morie of Scott City; three brothers, David Turner of Jackson, Dennis Turner of Peoria, Ill., and Douglas Turner of Farmington, Mo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Karen was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School. She then attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She had worked 25 years as a teller at Union Planters Bank and the former Cape County Bank in Jackson; and five years for L.T. Masonry in Jackson.
She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson and P.E.O. Chapter DJ in Jackson.
