MATTHEWS -- Karen Jean Clark Freeman, 45, of Matthews died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Nov. 29, 1952, in the Windyville community near East Prairie, daughter of Betty Ruth Organ Burnes and the Rev. Bob Burnes.

Her first husband, Eddie Clark of New Madrid, survives. On Nov. 14, 1997, she and Earl Freeman were married at Matthews.

Freeman had lived in Matthews for the past year and worked at the Qwik Pantry in Sikeston as an assistant manager.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Eddie "Bullet" Clark of Matthews; three daughters, Cindy Clark Phelps of Randles, Tammy Clark of New Madrid and Neecie Clark of Matthews; three brothers, Bobby Burnes of Marston, Steve Burnes of New Madrid and David Burnes of Sikeston; a sister, Brenda Pruitt of Sikeston; her mother of the Barnes Ridge community; her father and stepmother Millie Burnes of Sikeston; her grandmother, Geneva Redfering of East Prairie and four grandchildren.

A nephew preceded her in death.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Burnes officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
