MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Jessie William "J.W." Smith, 82, of Marble Hill passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill.
He was born June 22, 1930, in Millersville, son of George and Lillie Newell Smith. He married Margarite Seabaugh.
J.W. attended Cape County Cowboy Church near Oak Ridge. He worked as a truck driver for Kasten Masonry in Jackson, and was self-employed in purchasing timber to sell to area sawmills.
Loving survivors include three daughters, Margaret Thorne, Linda (Randy) Hargraves and Bonnie Bollinger, all of Jackson; a sister, Betty (Cline) Williamson of Cape Girardeau; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, a great-granddaughter, three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until time of service Friday at Cape County Cowboy Church.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
Cremation will be accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Cape County Cowboy Church.
