Junior Martin "Pete" Hanschen, 80, of Gordonville died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his home. He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Gordonville, son of Martin and Clara Eggers Hanschen. He and Doris Albin were married Jan. 19, 1946. Hanschen attended the former Gordonville School, and was a 1941 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 33 years at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and 10 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1984. He was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville...

Junior Martin "Pete" Hanschen, 80, of Gordonville died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Gordonville, son of Martin and Clara Eggers Hanschen. He and Doris Albin were married Jan. 19, 1946.

Hanschen attended the former Gordonville School, and was a 1941 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 33 years at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and 10 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1984. He was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sheila Kaiser and Miriam Mouser of Gordonville, Barbara Cody of West Plains, Mo.; a brother, Edward Hanschen of Gordonville; three sisters, Sarah Borchelt of Cape Girardeau, Minnie Whitler and Maggie Williams of Gordonville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with graveside military honors.
