June Marie Weaver, 87, passed away on Feb.11, 2022, at her home in Cape Girardeau. Born in St. Louis on June 2, 1934, she was the daughter of William Thomas Maddox and Lorie Arizona Martin. She was the loving mother of three children, Valerie Teters, who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gary Weaver of Cape Girardeau, and Diana Peoples, who currently lives in Flowery Branch, Georgia. June Marie Weaver, 87, passed away on Feb.11, 2022, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

Born in St. Louis on June 2, 1934, she was the daughter of William Thomas Maddox and Lorie Arizona Martin.

She was the loving mother of three children, Valerie Teters, who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gary Weaver of Cape Girardeau, and Diana Peoples, who currently lives in Flowery Branch, Georgia. She was the grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of 15, and she graduated from Poplar Bluff High School.

A lifelong learner, she pursued her education at Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Spanish. Subsequently, she worked for 17 years as a bilingual reservation agent at Drury Hotels in Cape Girardeau.

She was deeply devoted to her faith and was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served there in many ways, but most notably she utilized her talents in music as a pianist, organist and chorister. In her spare time, she was an active enthusiast of family history and genealogy work.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Giardeau.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Fairmount Cemetery.
