ANNA, Ill. -- June Stokes, 70, of Anna died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Anna, daughter of Howard and Florence Karraker Henderson. She and William Logan Stokes were married March 30, 1957, in Anna.

Stokes was a 1956 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. She retired from Florsheim Shoe Co., where she worked 22 years.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Valeria Meller of Anna; a son, David Stokes of Anna; a sister, Glenda Smith of Alto Pass, Ill.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Minor officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
