BENTON, Mo. -- Funeral for June Michael of Benton will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Dale Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
Michael, 80, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 4, 1920, at Fruitland, Mo., daughter of Dick and Carrie Shaner Russell. She first married Vivan Alvin Belk in 1939. He died Dec. 28, 1957. She then married Robert "Charles" Michael Dec. 9, 1962. He died Aug. 16, 1991.
Michael had been a bookkeeper at Security Bank and Trust. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and pianist many years; member of Benton Town and Country Homemakers; and was past worthy matron of Morley Chapter 342 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Patti Garrison of Union, Mo., Saundra Johnson of Benton; two stepsons, Bob Michael of Commerce, Mo., Joe Lee Michael of Benton; a brother, Jack Russell of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
