Julia Lynn Woeltje, 52, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family. She passed away quietly and peacefully after a long illness.

She was born Oct. 4, 1963, in Neubruecke, Germany, daughter of Darryl Keith and Maureen Gail Peirano Gerstner. She and David W. Woeltje were married Oct. 1, 1988.

Julia lived her youngest years on U.S. Army posts, where her father was stationed. She loved telling stories about her happy childhood and credited her parents with her experiences. Julia attended school in St. Louis and graduated from Northwest High School in Jefferson County, Missouri. She then attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, specializing in business organization.

After she and David were married, she assisted him in the family business, Midway Auto Body.

In 1998, they welcomed their son, Adam. Julie was an enthusiastic, dedicated mother -- a role she cherished. She worked tirelessly during Adam's Boy Scout years as a den leader and gained lifelong friendships with other dedicated mothers.
