Julia R. Schmid, 90, a resident of The Lutheran Home at 2825 Bloomfield Road, died Saturday, May 3, 1997.
She was born April 21, 1907, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of Albert and Edith Bauer Frick. On Aug. 19, 1925, she married the Rev. Walter H. Schmid in Zanesville. He preceded her in death Feb. 9. 1973. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one son, Walter Schmid Jr., of Crowley, La.; four daughters, Eunice Miller of Ojai, Calif., Lucille Herter of Jackson, Lorraine Walsh of Lafayette, La., and Julia Zersen of Austin, Tex.; two brothers, Walter and Frederick Frick, both of Zanesville; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one duaghter, and one brother.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church at 11 a.m., the Revs. David Dissen and Steven MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park.
