Julia Ann Tackett, 88, died Dec. 30, 1995, at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 29, 1907, in Marquand, the daughter of Albert Noah and Emma Elizabeth Strickland.

Tackett was a schoolteacher and taught school in Zalma for 25 years, beginning in the early 1930s. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and the Council of Catholic Women.

There are no known survivors.

Friends may call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
