SIKESTON, Mo. -- Judy Sheryl Goode Burden, 55, died at 8:20 a.m., June 9, 2004, at her residence in Sikeston after a yearlong battle with colon cancer.
She was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Sikeston, the youngest daughter of Hugh and Shirley Landers Goode, who survive. She was the beautiful wife of James G. Burden of Sikeston, who survives.
She was a 1966 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School. She married James G. Burden of Charleston, Mo., April 4, 1967.
She was a legal secretary and began her career working for the late Tom Gilmore. She ended her career last summer when she was working for Burns and Taylor. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Lisa Carol and Ron Webb of Dexter, Mo., Jenifer Leigh and Lesley Cantrell of Bertrand, Mo., and Debra Lynn and Chris Link of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Patricia Kay Chism of Sikeston, Delores Ann Faucett of Cupertino, Calif., and her twin sister, Jeanne Carol Goode of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Sarah Cantrell of Bertrand, Trey, Adam and Madelyn Webb of Dexter, and Nathan James Link of Memphis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home, 1120 N. Main in Sikeston. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1802 Ables Road, Sikeston with the Rev. Joe McCullough and family friend the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
