Judd W. Wilson, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, the son of Judd E. and Mary J. Pitts Wilson. He first married Viola Wilson. She preceded him in death in December of 2000. He then married Alice M. Maple in 2002 in St. Petersburg, Fla. She preceded him in death in 2004...

Judd W. Wilson, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, the son of Judd E. and Mary J. Pitts Wilson. He first married Viola Wilson. She preceded him in death in December of 2000. He then married Alice M. Maple in 2002 in St. Petersburg, Fla. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Wilson served in the Navy's 1st CB Battalion from Dec. 30, 1941 to Nov. 12, 1945. He served in the South Pacific, New Guinea from February of 1942 to October of 1945. He was of the Protestant faith, member of the Shriners, was a Mason for 67 years and a 50 year member of the Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge, VFW and the American Legion. He worked at CIPS plant in Grand Tower, Ill., for 35 years as an operating engineer.

He is survived by sister Jenny Stone of Metropolis, Ill., nephew Lee Kimmel of Cape Girardeau, and nieces Mary Sybil Peter, Rose Marie Ellis and Jenny L. Haley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Marty Wilson, and two sisters, Elizabeth Smithey and Henrietta Kimmel.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower, Ill., with Don Burchyett officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
