JACKSON -- Juanita "Nita" Cromer, 84, of Jackson, died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 23, 1912, at Millersville, daughter of Luther M. and Belvy Niblack Proffer. She and Earl Cromer were married in 1945.
Cromer was a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell 12 years. She moved to South Carolina in 1945 and back to Jackson in 1978. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Cromer of Jackson; a sister, Alice Spillman of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Morris Cobb officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
