SIKESTON -- Funeral service for J.R. Odum of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Revs. Billie Butler and E.J. McDougal will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery here.
Odum, 68, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Manila, Ark., son of Joseph C. and Beulah McCain Odum. He and Gloria Jean Stanfield were married Sept. 26, 1953. She died March 8, 1984.
Odum was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Pullen of Charleston; two brothers, Thelbert Odum of Essex, Odell Odum of Sikeston, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
