MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Joyce A. Shumpert, 61, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 7, 1942, at Ancell, Mo., daughter of Rufus and Ethel Stone Sanford. She and Charles Shumpert were married Oct. 15, 1968, in Scott City.
Mrs. Shumpert was a production worker with the Rubbermaid Co.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; two sons, Chuck (Cheryl) Sims of Sedgewickville, Mo., Keith (Brenda) Shumpert of Burfordville; two daughters, Gladys (Don) Laforge of Charlotte, N.C., Tammy (Tom) Ostendorf of Scopus, Mo.; two brothers, Rufus Sanford of Benton, Mo., Paul Sanford of Golconda, Ill.; a sister, Verna Mae Kelly of Scott City; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William E. and Roger Dale Sanford; and a sister, Dorthalee Sanford.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Scopus.
