Joyce S. Rubel, 66, of Scott City, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 2, 1939, in St. Louis, daughter of Silas Jefferson and Amy Nora Hasty Statler. She married Roy "Bob" Rubel May 24, 1963, in Zalma, Mo. He died Nov. 30, 1996.
She was a Realtor and owner of the Real Estate Connection. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, and the American Quarter Horse Association, where her horses held some of the highest points in the circuit. She was also a founding member of the Silver Spur Saddle Club in Scott City.
Surviving is one son, Rory Rubel of Scott City.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Terry Eades and the Rev. Thomas Bray officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
