SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Joyce Elouise Jones of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Beaird will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Jones, 62, died Thursday, July 4, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Grubbs, Ark., daughter of Sylvia Vester and Estella Marie Mitts Stovall Ross. She married Robert Jones, who died in 1975.

Jones was a dietitian supervisor at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She attended Church of the Rock.

Survivors include a daughter, Belinda Lay of Sikeston; a brother, Vester Ross of Sikeston; seven sisters, Lavern Scherpinsky of Sagatuck, Mich., Fay Sandusky, Patsy Pickett, Liz Abernathy and Maralin Brewer of Jackson, Sandra Freeman of Hillsobro, Ill., Debra Hoskins of Benton; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
