Joyce Marie Jansen, 73, of Cape Girardeau went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at her home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1946, in St. Louis to Fred L. and Mildred I. Behling Dietiker. She and Leonard Michael Jansen were married Feb. 4, 1967, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2009.
Joyce attended Beaumont High School in North St. Louis and Southeast Missouri State University, where she met the man of her dreams. She was a teacher's aide with Cape Girardeau School District for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
Joyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she attended Tuesday morning Bible classes, served in various offices of Ladies Junior Aide, was vice president of Lutheran Women's Missionary League and served on the prayer chain.
She truly loved her time with her family and grandchildren, whether it be at ballgames, choir concerts, drama performances, playing card games, fishing, shopping or especially going to church together and having devotions together.
Survivors include her son, Christopher Michael (Libby) Jansen of Jackson; daughter, Connie Marie Klein and her fiance, Scott Combs of Jackson; and grandchildren, Cameron Jansen, Connor Klein, Jonathan Klein, Cassidy Klein and Cara Jansen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be at Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Saxony Lutheran High School.
