NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Joyce E. Hartman, 75, a longtime resident of Naperville, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at Edward Hospital.
She was born July 15, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
Joyce was a longtime employee of the City of Naperville Water Department. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading, playing board games, sewing and gardening. She loved to travel with family and friends, especially her yearly trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Joyce always adored her dogs and truly missed her Schnauzer, "Buddy."
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Joseph Hartman; brother, Charles "Steve" (Penny) Green; nephews, Aaron (Carrie) Green, Brandon (Sara) Pylate and Adam Green; niece, Paige (Clay) Turner; children, Kathy Tyrrell, William (Judy) Hartman, Donald (Lori) Hartman, Laura (Sam) Kamberis and Robert (Lee) Hartman; grandchildren, Megan Ripsky, Sara Ripsky, Jackie (Nick) Palumbo, Joseph Hartman, Jacob Hartman, Nicholas Kamberis, Alex Kamberis, Lucas Kamberis, Caroline Hartman-Pinckard and Ben Hartman; great-grandchildren, Cayden Palumbo, Harper Palumbo, William Palumbo, Jim Tyrell and Tom Tyrrell; as well as two great-nieces, a great-nephew and many great friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon F. and Estella M. Brock Green, and her granddaughter, Anna Hartman.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., in Naperville.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wheatland Township Cemetery in Naperville.
