CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Joyce Elizabeth Aldridge of Charleston will be held at 1 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Revs. Bob Bishop and Larry Stephenson, a grandson, will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.

Aldridge, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Wyatt, daughter of John M. and Ollie B. White Murphy. She and Mack Euen Aldridge were married April 6, 1935. He died March 4, 1970.

Aldridge lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She lived in Orange County, Calif., 12 years where she was a dietitian at St. Joseph Hospital, retiring in 1971. She returned to Charleston and was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church and Rebekah Lodge of Charleston.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Aldridge of Lake View, Mich., Paul Aldridge of Orange, Calif.; three daughters, Ann Stephenson of Bertrand, Nancy Ames of Wyatt, Shirley Schilstra of Sumner, Wash.; a brother, John Murphy of Marion, Ill.; 19 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three daughters and a brother.
