Joy Earlene Vilhauer, 66, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 24, 1956, in Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of Earl and Mary Matthews.
Joy was one of a kind. She never knew a stranger. Her love and kindness were far-reaching, without boundaries and truly genuine. She is now with her soul mate, Allen Mossmayer Jr., riding on the back of his motorcycle in heaven. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
Loving survivors include four sons, James Dilley, Mike Dilley and Joe (Bobbie) Dilley, all of Jackson, and Allen (Diamond) Mossmayer III of Macedon, New York; seven grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Caitlin, Jordyn, Renee, Missy and Jaden; three siblings, Jeffery Carson, Joyce Hopkins and Jilda Lewis; and two great-grandchildren.
Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Allen Mossmayer, and a sister, Patricia Rowe.
A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. Janet Hopkins will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home.
