Joseph Wetherford, 69, 316 S. Lorimier, died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Aug. 6, 1925, at Egypt Mills, son of Joseph Mathilda Wetherford. He married Jessie Pat Melton, who died in August 1988.
Wetherford had been a truck driver with Jerry Lipps Truck Service and Sam Tanksley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Wetherford and Billie Joe Tucker of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Ruth Walker of Hollywood, Calif., Jean Dedd of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Marsala Mangrum of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in McClain's Chapel Cemetery, with VFW graveside rites.
