BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Joseph Russel Triplett, 85, of Southhaven, Miss., died at Memphis, Tenn. Friday, July 21, 2000.
Triplett was born Feb. 4, 1915, at Essex, Mo., son of George W. and Amanda Waters Triplett.
He and Edith Black were married May 2, 1936. She died May 13, 1998.
Triplett lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He was a retired employee of the City of Bloomfield. He had served as alderman of the Bloomfield North Ward and was co-founder of the Bloomfield Little League Baseball. He coached Bloomfield's first Connie Mack League baseball game.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Russel Triplett of Southhaven, Miss., and Dennis Gene Triplett of Germantown, Tenn.; and two granddaughters.
Funeral will be held at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 2 p.m. today, with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
