Joseph Robert Schenimann, 75, 318 County Road 602, died Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1921, at Neelys Landing, son of Robert B. and Maggie J. Miller Schenimann. He and Margie Farrow were married Oct. 10, 1942, in Jackson.

Schenimann farmed in the Indian Creek area. He worked at Southeast Missouri State University from 1949 until retiring in 1985 as maintenance supervisor.

He was one of the founders and former board member of Wesley United Methodist Church near Fruitland, and one of the founders and former president of Nell Holcomb School Board of Education. He had also served on Cape County School Board.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Schenimann of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Lois Koehler and Kaye Malahy of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will be in McLain Chapel Cemetery at Indian Creek.
