Joseph F. "Joe" Proctor Sr., 72, of St. Charles and formerly of Perryville, died Sunday, June 22, 1997, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1925, in Minnith, the son of William Lloyd and Myrtle Ann Brandel Proctor. He married Lucille A. Kreiter on Aug. 24, 1957, in St. Charles.
He was a retired school bus driver for St. Joseph School in Cottleville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his wife; six sons, Kenny, Gary and Ricky Proctor, all of Perryville, Jerry and Joe Proctor Jr., both of St. Charles, and James Proctor of O'Fallon; two daughters, Dianna Massey of Perryville and Nancy Proctor of St. Louis; a half-brother, Sam Ward of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 tonight, and from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 6:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Ed Hankinson officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Cemetery in St. Mary.
