Joseph Norman Niswonger, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Cape Girardeau, son of Norman L. and Irmina Hahn Niswonger. He and Delois "Dee" Emmons were married Dec. 1, 1962, in Perryville, Mo.
Niswonger had been a truck driver. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Teamsters Local 600, River City Workers of the Blind, and Missouri Council of the Blind.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rebecca Carnell of Missouri; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8:30 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 8.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
