PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Joseph H. Lukefahr, 98, of Perryville died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 22, 1901, in Perry County, son of Frank and Minnie Roberts Lukefahr. He and Mary Lou Briscoe were married in 1940. She died April 18, 1985...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Joseph H. Lukefahr, 98, of Perryville died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1901, in Perry County, son of Frank and Minnie Roberts Lukefahr. He and Mary Lou Briscoe were married in 1940. She died April 18, 1985.

Lukefahr was a retired postal worker. He had also been a semi-pro ballplayer.

Survivors include a son, Steve Lukefahr of Chesterfield, and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lake Charles Memorial Park in St. Louis.
