PERRYVILLE -- Joseph L. Geringer, 75, of Perryville died Thursday, Dec. 27, 1990 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1915 in Biehle, son of Joseph and Josephine Ernst Geringer.
He was a bulk fuel deliverer.
On Aug. 17, 1940, he married the former Marie Beatrice Gibbar. She survives.
In addition, he is survived by two daughters, Virginia Hunt, Festus, Mary Ann Hoffman, Cape Girardeau; two sons, Robert Geringer, Oak Harbor, Wash., Roger Geringer, St. Louis; two brothers, Edwin Geringer, St. Louis, Hugo Geriniger, New Athens, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
One son, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282. He was past commander of American Legion and chairman of the house committee of American Legion.
Funeral mass was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church with the Rev. Henry Grodecki officiating. Burial followed in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake service was held at 7 p.m.
