CAIRO, Ill. -- Joseph A. Huffman Sr., 80, of Cairo died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Cairo, son of Floyd and Josephine McElhaney Huffman.
His wife, Alvina, died Aug. 8, 1998.
Huffman was a licensed insurance agent and owner of Huffman Insurance Agency in Cairo. He was a veteran of World II serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Cairo Baptist Church and Cairo Elks Lodge 651. He served as adjutant with American Legion Post 406 in Cairo.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Huffman Jr. of Belleville, Kim Huffman of Cairo; two daughters, Barbara Rice of Kevil, Ky., Peggy Mason of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Floyd Huffman of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nelson Crain and Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery in Barlow, Ky.
