CRYSTAL CITY, Mo. -- Joseph C. Hopkins, 94, of Crystal City died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City.
He was born July 6, 1907, at Zalma, Mo., son of John and Illa Hembree Hopkins. He and Edna Mitchell were married Sept. 7, 1968, at Bismarck, Mo. She died March 25, 1986.
Hopkins was employed as a freelance pipefitter for various construction companies. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Billie Ruth Lawson of Potosi, Mo., and Ruby Jean Connor of Desoto, Mo., several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one stepson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Mo., from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery near Zalma.
