PERRYVILLE -- Joseph F. Hayden, 70, of Perryville, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1992 at his home in Perryville.

He was born March 11, 1922 in Perry County, the son of Lon L. Hayden and Lunnette Magdelen Brewer.

On Nov. 8, 1948, he married Ileene D. Angle. She preceded him in death.

On Feb. 9, 1991, he married Mary Lee Barks in Brewer. She survives.

He was retired from military service with the U.S. Army. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member and a member of the American Legion in Perryville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Simpson and Sharon Layton, both of Perryville; one son, Joseph F. Hayden Jr., Perryville; two sisters, Elinor M. Greminger and Mary T. Greminger, both of Ste. Genevieve; four brothers, J. Edward Hayden, J. Bertrand Hayden, J. Chalmer Hayden, and J. Donald Hayden, all of Perryville; and nine grandchildren.

One granddaughter and two grandsons preceded him in death.

Funeral service was held Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Henry Grodecki and the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville was in charge of arrangements.
