MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Joseph D. Beasley Sr., 63, of East St. Louis, Ill., died on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1937 at Murfreesboro, N.C., the son of Joseph W. and Elsie Futrell Beasley. He was a truck driver for the Lanter Co. of Twin Lakes, Ill., and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of East St. Louis. He was a veteran of the Air Force.
He married Melba Mouser of Marble Hill on Jan. 16, 1956.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Beasley of Granite City, Ill.; a daughter, Cynthia M. Hayes of Fairmont City, Ill.; a brother, Norcom Beasley of Conway, N.C.; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three children.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Baker Cemetery. The Rev. E. Dewayne Francis will officiate.
