Joseph Salvatore Caruso, 24, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 15, 2013, near Scott City. He was born June 23, 1989, at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base, Calif., son of James Michael and Teresa Annette Sullivan Caruso. Joseph graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 2009. Joseph Salvatore Caruso, 24, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 15, 2013, near Scott City.

He was born June 23, 1989, at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base, Calif., son of James Michael and Teresa Annette Sullivan Caruso.

Joseph graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 2009. A natural auto mechanic, he graduated from the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center with several certificates in mechanics. He also graduated from OTC Diesel mechanic school in Springfield, Mo.

His passion was rebuilding cars -- especially 240 Nissan SXs and drifting cars. He was employed at Havco Wood Products as a line team leader.

Survivors include his fiancee, Joanna Lee of Cape Girardeau and their unborn son, Jayden Joseph Salvatore Caruso; father and stepmother, James and Kirsten Caruso of Plano., Ill.; mother, Teresa Fein of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Tonya (Brian) Gunn of Whiteman AFB, Mo.; a brother, Anthony (Stephanie) Caruso of Nixa, Mo.; two half brothers, Daniel Chapman and Jacob Fein of Fredericksburg; a stepsister, Riley Lynch; two stepbrothers, Jacob and Max Lynch, all of Plano; three nieces, Kaylee Atwood, Ella Atwood and Olivia Caruso; a grandmother, Anntoinette Caruso of Cicero, Ill.; and stepgrandparents, Dr. Riley and Connie Adams of Scopus, Mo.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Hennecke officiating.
