JOSEPH BURRIS

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Joseph "Wilson" Burris of Perks, Ill., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Sue Miller will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.

Burris, 73, died Saturday, May 25, 1996, at City Care Nursing Home in Anna, Ill.

He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Lebanon, Ky., son of Wren and Florence Mattingly Burris. He and Myrtis Duke were married Aug. 30, 1951, in Palistein, Ind.

Burris retired from L.S. Ayres Department Store in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a member of Ullin Methodist Church in Ullin, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Ray, Ola and William Burris, all of New Palistein, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
