Joseph B. Schabbing Jr., 83, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1994, at the Lutheran Home. He was born March 15, 1911, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Joseph B. and Mary Kohlfeld Schabbing Sr. He and Christine Brucker were married Aug. 25, 1936, in Cape Girardeau...

Joseph B. Schabbing Jr., 83, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1994, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born March 15, 1911, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Joseph B. and Mary Kohlfeld Schabbing Sr. He and Christine Brucker were married Aug. 25, 1936, in Cape Girardeau.

Schabbing was a driver and inloader at Marquette Cement 31 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joyce Johnson of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Louis Schabbing of Illinois, Albert Schabbing of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marie Laurentius of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus service at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
