JOSEPH A. LAURENTIUS

Joseph A. Laurentius, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Cape LaCroix Manor Nursing Home.

He was born July 29, 1902, at Glennon, to Joseph and Mary Radin Laurentius

On Aug. 10, 1926, Laurentius married Mary VanGennip at Glennon. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 1985.

Laurentius is survived by two sons, Alfred Laurentius of Cape Girardeau, and Leon Laurentius of Jackson; one daughter, Jannie Van Gennip of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Henry Laurentius of St. Ann, and one sister, Minnie Berkbuegler of Biehle. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

One grandson and a great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Laurentius farmed most of his life near Advance. He moved from the family farm to Cape Girardeau in August 1984. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons South Sprigg Street Chapel. Parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m., today, followed at 7:30 by the Knights of Columbus Rosary.

The funeral mass will be held Monday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Don Berkbigler officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
