Jon Christopher Sharp, 66, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Saint Frances Medical Center.
He was born April 12, 1952, in Highland, Illinois, the son of the late Jonathan and Georgianna Reeves Sharp.
Jon grew up in Cape Girardeau, graduating from Central High School. He then joined the U. S Navy, serving in Vietnam. Upon returning from service, Jon attended Southeast Missouri State University, graduating in 1982.
Jon worked for Wahlco as a supervisor for many years.
He was a proud member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838 for 35 years. He loved to hunt and fish whenever possible.
Loving survivors include his daughter, Natalie (Malcolm) McCrae of Cape Girardeau; a son, Christopher (Norleen) Sharp of St. Louis; a sister, Rebekah (Corky) McCormack of Cape Girardeau; a brother, C. Ray (Claudia) Sharp of Warrenton, Missouri; and a granddaughter, Nura A. Sharp; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date.
Inurnment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
