EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Johnny Meggs, 46, of East Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, July 3, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Wynne, Ark., son of William C. and Zella Robertson Meggs.
Meggs was a graduate of Shawnee High School. He was employed at Tower Rock Stone Co. He was a member of Laborers Union 1104, and Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two daughters, Aleah Meggs of Benton, Mo., Natalie Meggs of East Cape Girardeau; three brothers, William "Bill" Meggs Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Teddy Meggs of East Cape Girardeau, Anthony Meggs of Wickliffe, Ky.; four sisters, Rosemary Inserra of East Cape Girardeau, Imajean Snell of Carbondale, Brenda Turner of Millersville, Mo., and Lanora Lovell of Dupo.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
