Funeral for Johnny G. May of Rockford, Ill., will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
May, 62, died Friday, June 19, 1998, at his home.
He was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, son of J.C. and Cleo Dabbs May. He married Monett A. Roberts Nov. 4, 1954, in Cape Girardeau.
May was a professional spray painter for Pacific Scientific of Rockford, retiring in August 1997. He had lived in Rockford since 1963. He served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Debra Miller and Connie Duncan of Rockford, Kathy Hatcher of Belvidere, Ill., Theresa Rollins of Killeen, Texas; a son, Gerald May of Rockford; three brothers, Leland May of Cape Girardeau; J.C. "Wayne" May of Rockford, Bruce Harvey of Sterling, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
