EAST PRAIRIE -- Johnny Gorostiza, 46, of East Prairie died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center from injuries he received in an auto accident.
He was born Nov. 14, 1950, in Sikeston, son of Atanacio and Laura Vasquez Gorostiza. He lived in Mississippi County most of his life and worked as a crane operator with the Fitzgerald Marine Service in Wyatt. He was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Sikeston.
He is survived by his mother; two sons, John Gorostiza Jr. and Benjamin Lee Gorostiza, both of Wickliffe, Ky.; a daughter, Christy Gorostiza of Wickliffe; two brothers, Tony Gorostiza of Charleston and Ricky Gorostiza of Sikeston; five sisters, Rosa Slaughter and Gloria Hack, both of Charleston, Wally Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Hesselrode of Jackson, Tenn., and Angela Crespo of St. Louis; and his fiance, Mary Parr, of East Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
