SIKESTON, Mo. -- Johnny Clay Dover, 51, of Bell City, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 17, 1951, in Sikeston, son of J.C. and Orena "Renee" Duke Dover. He and Verna "Kay" Morris were married March 27, 1971, in Sikeston.
He was a 1969 graduate of Bell City High School and was a member of the Bell City United Methodist Church, where he served as president of the church's administrative council. For 18 years, he was a quality control technician for Purina Golden Cat in Bloomfield, Mo.
He was a member and past president of the Bell City Rotary Club and had served as a city councilman. He also served two terms as a committeeman for the Stoddard County Democratic Central Committee.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Derek and Clay Dover of Bell City; one daughter, Meghan Dover of Bell City; one sister, Kay Rampley of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Linda Zych and Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
