CHARLESTON -- Johnnie Mae Wilson, 88, of Charleston died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care in Sikeston.
She was born Dec. 28, 1909, in Greenwood, Miss., daughter of Leroy and Pairlee McDonald McMann. She and Willie Wilson were married in 1927. He died in 1991.
Wilson had lived in Missouri more than 70 years. She was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church and the Missionary Society, had been a Sunday School teacher and served on the Mother Board.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Wilson of Ypsilanti, Mich., Bobby Wilson of Lawton, Okla.; four daughters, Amelia Craven of Charleston, Willa Lawton, Odessa Smith and Autoria Wilson of Chicago.
Also surviving are five sisters, Lota Anderson of Chicago, Ora Williams of Enville, Tenn., Jessie Terry of Milwaukee, Wis., Salthia Butler of Cleveland, Ohio, Teresa Blackful of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Church, with Pastor J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
